Women’s Health Clinic FAQs

What does a women’s clinic do?

Women’s health clinics usually specialise in the types of medical services that women commonly need, as well as those services which are specific to women. Many women choose to visit a women’s health clinic rather than a normal GP in order to have access to specialised knowledge and experience that may not be found elsewhere.

What does women’s health include?

Women’s health is a broad area of medicine, with no strict definition of the particular medical concerns that are encompassed within it. Generally speaking, women’s health can involve anything that may be assessed at a women’s health clinic. If you are unsure whether your health issues can be addressed at a women’s health clinic, get in touch. We’ll be happy to answer your questions.

Most gynaecologists won’t take ordinary consultations or seek to practice as a general practitioner. They are specialists in a very specific area and are usually referred to by primary care doctors. many women’s health clinics will have an on-site gynaecologist who handles specialist concerns referred by the general practitioners who also work there.
